Even though we’re not fasting over the month of Ramadan, we’re certainly joining in to feast on the food that is on offer!
During the month of Ramadan, we’ve seen so many food hawkers popping up everywhere all over Malaysia – quite casually too with hawkers taking over pavements, roadsides, and car parks ready to take in the crowds as soon as sun sets.

We were mooching around in Subang Jaya when we came across a road that was shut off and filled with food hawkers selling all kinds of foods.
There were stalls selling nasi lemak, nasi tomato, kebabs and all kinds of fried snacks.

The air was filled with delicious smells from barbeques where hawkers were smoking chicken wings and fanning satay on sticks.

I have been slightly obsessed with popiahs so we tried the fried version from Twin’s Popia. I would say the soft popiahs are better as the fried ones taste like spring rolls.

There was even saw a stall called Uncle Jill’s jacket potato selling jacket potatoes filled with all manners of fillings such as cheezy beef and chicken and mushroom. For just RM 4 (Just under £1) for a jacket potato, you could really over indulge yourself, which is of course what we did. The happiest day of my life!
