Let’s face it, we all love food and drink. Why else would you be on our site? We love it so much that we want to share our favourites, and some ‘out there’ bits and bobs, we thought you should know about. We’ve got sauces, clever spaghetti and salted chocolate.
If you’ve got any interesting or exciting food or drink, let us know.
Fortnum & Mason Salted Milk Choclate
An unexpected combination of saltiness and sweetness that is suprisingly moreish. Available from Fortnum & Mason.
Christian Audigier Wine
Interesting bottle designs from this fashion designer. Christian Audigier popularised the Ed Hardy fashion brand - which features the artwork of tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy, you can see similar designs following onto his wine label. We're not sure what the wine is like yet but you can read about the Christian Audigier range here
Lescure Butter
Pastry chefs including François Payard swear by this butter because it caramelizes well and gives an extra-moist crumb in pies etc. I love this butter with fresh chunky bread and sprinkles of coarse sea salt on top.
Mallow Fluff
You can't argue about it. Molten marshmallow, in various flavours I might add, is the mutts. Does get rather sickly though but try making a Fluffer Nutter.
Chocolate Popcorn Slab
Our Buyer was trialling whether to range this massive slab of chocolate on popcorn on the shop floor, but it didn't pull through despite me grovelling. I've been trying to find a stockist since!
Hotel Chocolat's Liquid Chocolat - Aztec Chilli
This is how the ancient Aztecs of South America like to drink their cocoa, with a hit of mouth warming chilli to tingle the taste buds - certainly makes a change to Cadbury's hot chocolate. Available from Hotel Chocolat.
Jelly Bean Bamboozled
Weird and nasty flavours mixed with regular ones. Makes a great game on a Friday afternoon at work! Think I tried the vomit flavour once. Available from Jelly Belly.
A1 Steak Sauce
My folks bring be back a bottle of this every year they go to the States. It's brilliant on steak, as you would expect but also great with baked potatoes and in sandwiches. If I was to describe it in a few words I'd say 'mouth-wateringly tangy'
Shrimp Paste
Shrimp paste is made from fermented, salted shrimps that are pounded into a concentrated paste. Sounds gross, well it does give an amazing flavour to Asian cooking and it's probably the secret ingredient in your favourite Asian dishes.
Teapigs Matcha Green Tea Powder
Matcha is 100% natural, organic green tea leaves which have been carefully ground down to form a fine powder. The Japanese have been drinking it in their tea ceremonies for over 900 years! Read more on Teapigs.
Bucatini Pasta
Spaghetti with a hole through the middle. Genius. Try it in a carbonara, the sauce fills the tubes so you're not left with so much sauce in your bowl once the spag is done.
Spring Onion Crakers
I grew up with these Pop Pan spring onion crackers - really really yummy and the spring onion is not too overpowering.
Chinese Steamed rolls
You can buy these 'mantou' (steamed rolls) from Chinese supermarkets. Pop them in a steamer for 10 minutes and a real treat with condense milk.
Chinese Rice Cracker
Not your average boring rice cracker, these ones have a seasoning that is really addictive. I once went through 40 packets of these and had an epic sore throat the next day.
Nikka Japanese Whisky Hamper
A lovely gift for the Whisky Connoisseur - apparently the Japanese won the awards for the best whisky in the world! Ssh just don't tell Phil! Available from Bouf
